Use your head and your common sense and tell someone where you are going

Don't get hooked by a phishing scam. Phishing is a method used by fraudsters to try to get your personal information such as your username and password. As you engage in online dating you'll find you develop your own radar for people who are not genuine. Make sure you have exchanged a few emails before you actually meet so you've had chance to dig a little deeper into some of those profile claims
